Tournament Format and Server Settings

Team Creation

Every team will be organically created (no draft). A team can only be assembeld with one of the following tier combinations: A-B-C, A-C-C, or B-B-C. The team must equal or fall below the salary cap of $1800. Other team formations may be possible with admin approval.


Flex Scheduling

We do not believe in forfeits. Flex scheduling will be utilized to ensure every match gets played in the tournament. Captains from each team will be expected to utilize the private match scheduling rooms that were utilized mid-season of the Winter Classic.


Match Streaming

If teams want their matches streamed, they must coordinate with an official Dopepugs streaming partner. These stream dates will be coordinated in the private match scheduling rooms for each match.


Tournament Format

The tournament will consist of a 2-stage 3 vs 3 TDM tournament. In the first stage, teams will randomly be chosen to participate in placement matches. Based on the performance of the maps played, teams will then be seeded for a single elimination bracket for round number 2. Seedings will be based on map wins, map losses, and kill/death ratio.


Match Scheduling

Captains from each team will be responsible for coordinating the best time and day to play their matches. We highly discourage forfeits and will take all measures possible to prevent such an event from occurring. Teams should be willing to reschedule a match to uphold the integrity of the league. If teams are unable to schedule a match with their existing rosters, the administration will decide the best course of action which can include forced roster changes and/or forfeits.


Team Selection

There will be no drafting for this tournament. Instead, players will form teams organically by teaming up with who they want. Teams are allowed to have official mascots as part of their team. Teams will have a maximum of 3 participants with the 4th (optional) being a mascot. A player can only be listed as being on any one team at a time. Teams must be finalized 24 hours prior to scheduling a match. Teams can modify rosters between matches as long as they are finalized again 24 hours before scheduling the next match. The administration must be notified to sign off on any roster change requests.


Captain

Teams will have to assign one player as captain to be the voice for the team and the contact person for administrators, this does not need to be your Tier A player. All communications should go through Discord.


Servers

The games will have to be played on the official DopePugs Cloud servers that are configured with UTPureDP1J and ACE v1.3a. The server locations that will be made available to players will include NYC, Chicago, Dallas, Miami, and possibly more. Passworded servers with dedicated resources will be used for the matches for better stability.


Server Selection (Fair Server Rule)

The captains are required to pick servers that work favorably for both teams. If the captains can’t agree, a match admin will make the final decision.

Map Selection

Each team will vote to eliminate one map from the map pool. Upon completion of maps being eliminated, each team will vote to select one map. The remaining map will be the tiebreaker. The winner of a coin toss will determine if they vote first or second. Example: (@zbot .coinflip @rootsoft @dasnaksta)


Game Settings

The complete UTPureDP1J settings are provided in the Appendix section. A server-side demo will be recorded and made available for teams to review within 24 hours of a match finishing.


Spectators

No spectators will be allowed on the servers during the games with the exceptions of admins and streamers. Don’t forget to enable a stream delay.


Client-side demo recording

While server-side demos will be recorded and made available to teams, players are still encouraged to record client-side demos for administrative reviewing purposes and for video highlights.


Voice Communication

All teams will be required to utilize voice on dopepugs discord community server. Channels will be set to a user limit for each team.


Cheating and Tweaking

Players caught using cheats, illegal tweaks, or suspicious activity to gain an advantage over others will be kicked out of the tournament. Any team with a player caught using a cheat or illegal tweak will forfeit the offending match and points will be awarded to the opposing team, retroactively if needed.


Anti Tweak

We will be updating anti tweak to restore the integrity of competitive play. If you're unsure if something is illegal, there's a good chance it's frowned upon. Utilizing what is available in your in game interface is your safest approach toward not flagging an anti tweak violation.


Super Admin Rule

The TDM Council will vote on any unique situations that may occur that are not listed in the rules above.
