Tournament Format and Server Settings
The tournament will accommodate 24, 32, or 48 teams. Depending on the total number of entries, the group count and overall format may be adjusted accordingly. The following outlines the format for a 32-team bracket:
Teams will be divided into groups of 4. Each group will compete in a WINGMAN match (multi-team TDM) consisting of 4 maps. Each team selects one map to play. If a chosen map has already been picked, that team must select a different one. The order of map selection will be determined by team salary, from highest to lowest. Ties in salary will be settled with a coin flip.
Scoring per match is as follows:
1st place: 3 points
2nd place: 2 points
3rd place: 1 point
4th place: 0 points
After all 4 maps are played, the two highest-scoring teams from each group will advance to a single-elimination bracket. From this stage forward, matches will follow a traditional 2v2 TDM format.
Captains from each team will be responsible for coordinating the best time and day to play their matches. We highly discourage forfeits and will take all measures possible to prevent such an event from occurring. Teams should be willing to reschedule a match to uphold the integrity of the league. If teams are unable to schedule a match with their existing rosters, the administration will decide the best course of action which can include forced roster changes and/or forfeits.
This tournament will not use a draft system. Instead, players may form teams organically with their preferred teammates. However, each team is required to select from the designated free agency pool to ensure balanced and competitive play. Teams may consist of up to two players. All rosters, including any substitutes, must be finalized at least 24 hours before a match is scheduled. Teams may adjust their rosters between matches, but all changes must be confirmed 24 hours in advance and approved by tournament administrators.
The inclusion of a tier system will depend on the final signup pool. All players will be assigned a salary, with teams required to stay within a defined salary cap. A secondary tier structure may also be introduced, requiring teams to include a specific mix of tiered players. The player pool will be continuously evaluated to ensure the chosen system supports competitive balance and overall league stability.
Teams will have to assign one player as captain to be the voice for the team and the contact person for administrators, this does not need to be your higher valued player. All communications should go through Discord.
The games will have to be played on the official DopePugs Cloud servers that are configured with IG+ Ping Compensation. The server locations that will be made available to players are Ashburn, Atlanta, Chicago, Dallas, and Los Angeles. Passworded servers with dedicated resources will be used for the matches for better stability.
Fair ping rule + admin discretion.
During the group stage, four maps will be played. If teams are tied in both points and frag difference, a single 2v2 tiebreaker map will be played between the tied teams on DM-Frantic-XS. In the playoff stage, the standard map ban process will apply, with the final remaining map automatically serving as the tiebreaker if needed. The better seed chooses to vote or pass at the start of the process.
Division 1 wildcard teams playing in the Division 2 bracket will have -30 frag penalties for the entire match. Before the match starts, they will determine how they want to utilize those frags (ex: Map one: -20 penalty, map two: -10).
Advancing division 2 teams will receive a +30 frag bonus for their match. They will determine how they want to utilize those frags before the match starts (ex: Map one: +15 frags, Map two: 10 frags, TB: 5 frags).
IG Plus and IG+ Ping Compensation. Dopepugs Antitweak.
No spectators will be allowed on the servers during the games with the exceptions of admins and streamers. Don’t forget to enable a stream delay.
If teams end up with the same number of points upon the conclusion of the group stage, the team with the more efficient frag spread will advance. If the frag spread is identical between the two teams, whoever won the head-to-head matchup will advance. If the head-to-head matchup was a draw, then the frag spread for that specific match will determine who advances. If the head-to-head matchup frag spread is identical, then a one-map playoff will take place on DM-Tempest.
While server-side demos will be recorded and made available to teams, players are REQUIRED to record client-side demos for administrative reviewing purposes and for video highlights.
All teams will be required to utilize voice on dopepugs discord community server. Channels will be set to a user limit for each team.
Players caught using cheats, illegal tweaks, or suspicious activity to gain an advantage over others will be kicked out of the tournament. Any team with a player caught using a cheat or illegal tweak will forfeit the offending match and points will be awarded to the opposing team, retroactively if needed.
We will be updating anti tweak to restore the integrity of competitive play. If you're unsure if something is illegal, there's a good chance it's frowned upon. Utilizing what is available in your in game interface is your safest approach toward not flagging an anti tweak violation.
The TDM Council will vote on any unique situations that may occur that are not listed in the rules above.
