Tournament Format and Server Settings
The tournament will consist of a 2-stage 3 vs 3 TDM tournament. In the first stage, a round-robin format will take place with 4 teams per group and where every team will get to play against all other teams in the same group. In short, every team will get to play 3 matches (spanning 3 rounds) during the round-robin stage. The top 2 teams of each group will advance to the next stage.

Captains from each team will be responsible for coordinating the best time and day to play their matches. We highly discourage forfeits and will take all measures possible to prevent such an event from occurring. Teams should be willing to reschedule a match to uphold the integrity of the league. If teams are unable to schedule a match with their existing rosters, the administration will decide the best course of action which can include forced roster changes and/or forfeits.
There will be no drafting for this tournament. Instead, players will form teams organically by teaming up with who they want. Each team will be required to draft from the available free agency. This is enforced to favor team balance and preserve quality in the games. Teams are allowed to have substitute players as part of their team as long as all teams are able to fill their rosters. The goal here is to prevent teams from hoarding players. Teams should try to only have 3 players but can have a maximum of 4 players, with 3 designated starters, and 1 allowed substitute. Again, we want to prioritize filling in as many teams as we can. A player can only be listed as being on any one team at a time, either as a starter or as a substitute. Teams must be finalized 24 hours prior to scheduling a match, including any substitute players. Teams can modify rosters between matches as long as they are finalized again 24 hours before scheduling the next match. The administration must be notified to sign off on any roster change requests.
Teams will have to assign one player as captain to be the voice for the team and the contact person for administrators, this does not need to be your Tier A player. All communications should go through Discord.
The games will have to be played on the official DopePugs Cloud servers that are configured with UTPureDP1J and ACE v1.3a. The server locations that will be made available to players are New York, Chicago, Miami, Dallas, Los Angeles, and Seattle. Passworded servers with dedicated resources will be used for the matches for better stability.
The captains are encouraged to pick ONE server for both maps. However if the captains cannot agree to a server, they are permitted to pick a server that favors their team when playing the opposing captain's map pick. (You get your map on your opponent’s server. Or you get their map on your server.)
Each team will only be able to choose a map a single time throughout the entire duration of the tournament.
Each team starts with the same 12 listed maps above and crosses one off each time they choose it. Your team will only ever get to choose to play a map one time each. No resets after the group stage. Plan your map choices well friendos.
In both the group and knockout stages, each team will select the map choice to be played. Captains use a coin flip to determine who picks the first map (zBot). Both teams will not be allowed to pick the same map during the map selection process. (Example @zBot .coinflip @Gus @oskr).
The single-elimination knockout phase of the tournament will use tiebreakers if needed, the round-robin group stage will not. In the case of a tiebreaker, the admins will provide three preselected maps. Each team will vote to eliminate one map with the remaining map to be the map played.
The complete UTPureDP1J settings are provided in the Appendix section. A server-side demo will be recorded and made available for teams to review within 24 hours of a match finishing.
No spectators will be allowed on the servers during the games with the exceptions of admins and streamers. Don’t forget to enable a stream delay.
If teams end up with the same number of points upon the conclusion of the group stage, the team with the more efficient frag spread will advance. If the frag spread is identical between the two teams, whoever won the head-to-head matchup will advance. If the head-to-head matchup was a draw, then the frag spread for that specific match will determine who advances. If the head-to-head matchup frag spread is identical, then a one-map playoff will take place on DM-Tempest.
While server-side demos will be recorded and made available to teams, players are still encouraged to record client-side demos for administrative reviewing purposes and for video highlights.
All teams will be required to utilize voice on dopepugs discord community server. Channels will be set to a user limit for each team.
Players caught using cheats, illegal tweaks, or suspicious activity to gain an advantage over others will be kicked out of the tournament. Any team with a player caught using a cheat or illegal tweak will forfeit the offending match and points will be awarded to the opposing team, retroactively if needed.
We will be updating anti tweak to restore the integrity of competitive play. If you're unsure if something is illegal, there's a good chance it's frowned upon. Utilizing what is available in your in game interface is your safest approach toward not flagging an anti tweak violation.
The TDM Council will vote on any unique situations that may occur that are not listed in the rules above.
